re: Kinship Rules

0
I just wanted to get down the things we tell folks when they sign up with us, plus a few other things that don't always get said, and a couple of new things.

Play nice. We're a group of good folks and we expect our members to reflect that. Be respectful to others, certainly to your kinnies, and hopefully to everyone else out there, as difficult as they may be at times.

Be helpful. Not sure what you want to do on a given day? Ask in kinship chat if anybody needs a hand. Have an idea for a kinship event? Bring it to Grintin or any other officer. Need a group for something? Ask in kinship and start one. Look in the chests in the kinship house and if you have a character in kin who needs something in there, take it. If you find something nifty you don't need but think a kinnie might, put it in the chests.

Mark your player note in the kinship tab. Say Main for your main character, and something like Alt of... for others, so we know who you are. Feel free to mention your craft or profession if you're willing to help others or might be looking for materials.

Be active. Log in, check your mail, play with us.
Officers will be demoted after about 60 days inactivity; other members will be demoted after about 90 days. If you say why you're inactive in your player note, it may partially or completely defer demotion (or at least removal) until after the return date in your note (eg. Main--in military: overseas posting, back around May 2011; or alt of Sneezy-backpacking around the world, back Sept 2010). You may be a recruit when you get back from a long absence, but we'll try to keep you if we know you're coming back.

Participate. You don't have to do everything we do, but do participate in some of the group activities. Come do instances, deed farming, or just normal grouping. If you're not into group instances or raids, participate in non-fighting kin events like the steeplechase, chicken-play, pie-relay, or landscape walks. If you can't log into the game for whatever reason, post on the kin site, start a discussion in the forum, or send a shout out every now and then. If you check the site and see folks on vent, log onto vent and let us hear from you.

If you sign up for something, be there on time. This is back to respect; folks who don't show up on time are implying that their time is more important than that of those who are waiting for them. If you want to sign up but aren't sure about the time, mention it in the note when you sign up. If you aren't around, we'll try to find someone else for your spot. Historically, not starting things on time has caused a lot of frustration among kinmates. Let's just be on time to things to which we commit.
